CRNA Renewal: Currency of Practice Not Met and Change to Non-Practicing

Thank you for applying to renew your practice permit in Alberta. In your most recent communication with the CRNA, you attested you do not meet the currency of practice requirement.

If you know you will not meet the currency of practice requirement by the end of the renewal period (September 30), these are your options:

• If you have already submitted your renewal application, we will withdraw and refund it.
• If you have not yet submitted your renewal application, do not complete or submit it.
• You can contact the CRNA and request that a non-practising application be created for you.

You cannot continue to practice as an RN or NP in Alberta effective October 1, 2024.

To return to practice as a registered nurse (RN) or nurse practitioner (NP) in the future, you must choose one of these options to meet currency of practice requirement prior to applying.
