CRNA Application: Currency of Practice Important Application Update

In follow up to your RN application with the CRNA, you have selected to meet the currency of practice requirement by practicing as a Registered Nurse where you are actively registered.

To facilitate this process the following steps will be taken:

• Application Withdrawal: Your RN application with the CRNA with be withdrawn. This means your application for Registered Nurse licensure in will not be processed at this time.
• Permit Fee Conversion: The permit fee you paid will be converted into a pre-payment/credit on your file. The fee you submitted as part of your application will be kept on your account and can be used for future purposes, such as when you reapply for RN licensure.
  • Liability Protection: You are advised to contact CNPS (Canadian Nurses Protective Society) regarding your liability protection fees.

Once you complete the RN practice hours you can reapply for RN licensure:

• Employer Confirmation: To support your reapplication for RN licensure, you will need to provide employer confirmation of your RN practice hours. This confirmation should include the following information:
  • Employer’s name and contact information
  • Your tile or role during the RN practice
  • Time period the practice in which you completed the practice hours
  • The total number of hours completed as an RN
• Re application for RN Licensure: Once you have met the currency requirement, you can log into your College Connect account and submit the application for RN licensure.
