CRNA Application: English Language Proficiency Exam Recommendation

Hello {{RegistrantFirstName}},

Thank you for your email, based on your last communication, we recommend that you complete an English language exam as evidence for the English language proficiency requirement. The CRNA accepts either the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test.

The CELBAN exam results must meet the below minimum scores:

• Listening: 9
• Writing: 7
• Reading: 8
• Speaking: 8

The IELTS exam results must meet the below minimum scores:

• Listening: 7.0
• Writing: 6.5
• Reading: 6.5
• Speaking: 7.0
• Overall: 7.0

You do not need a referral from the CRNA to apply and sit either of these exams. In the interim, your application will remain open until {{FormatDate ApplicationStartDatePlus12Months}}. Please send your results to the CRNA at registration@nurses.ab.ca.
