CRNA: NP Additional Stream of Practice Inquiry

At this time, we do not have an online application available for authorization for an additional Nurse Practitioner (NP) stream of practice, however I will guide you to the requirements and documents via this email. Please reach out if you have questions in follow-up.

The following documentation is required to complete an application:

1. Successful completion of an approved education program for Nurse Practitioner in the stream of practice you are seeking to authorize. 
   1. Determination of the necessary courses for this additional stream would be handled by the university.  They can provide tailored guidance on the specific courses required to fulfill these additional requirements. 
   2. The specific courses will be based on the gaps that need to be included to complement the initial NP education for the additional stream of practice.  
2. Successful completion of the relevant nurse practitioner exam. Please note, all nurse practitioner exams are different, depending on the stream of practice, and the CRNA accepts specific iterations of each. 
   1. When you are prepared to take your NP exam, please contact the CRNA and we will direct you on how to register. 
   2. If you have previously written your nursing practitioner exam, the exam authority must send a copy to the CRNA for review. 

Upon successful completion of the above requirements, this authorization would be added to your existing permit.
