CRNA: Refusal of RN Prescribing Authorization

Hello {{RegistrantFirstName}},

I regret to inform you your application for authorization to prescribe schedule 1 dugs (except for controlled drugs and substances) and ordering diagnostic tests has not been approved.

Your authorization was not approved at this time as one or more of the following requirements were not met:

  1. Successful completion of an approved education program for RN prescribing and ordering diagnostic tests.
  2. 3,000 hours of RN clinical practice. 750 hours of which are in the specific clinical practice area where you are applying for this authorization.
  3. Submission of a satisfactory employer reference.
  4. Confirmation that: 
    1. Your employer has policies in place that allows RN prescribing and ordering diagnostic tests.
    2. The clinical practice area has clinical support tools developed by the inter-professional team and are in place for the specific practice setting.
    3. You have a collaborative practice relationship with either a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician as appropriate to the setting.

If you should meet the requirements above in the future, you may reapply to the registrar to have your application reassessed.
